Help with the apps

Short answers to common questions.

FoldSketch for Duo

Which devices can I draw on?

Drawing requires iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1 or later. Other iPhones show a device requirement notice; settings and support remain available.

How do I make a mirrored imprint?

Open your Duo in landscape and draw on the selected half of the inner screen. Close it completely and open it again: new strokes appear as a mirrored imprint on the other half. Keep drawing and fold again.

If the app asks you to rotate or open the device, fully open the inner screen and hold it in landscape. The text beside the title identifies the drawing half.

Can I change colours, paper, and the drawing half?

Yes. Choose from five palettes, each with four colours plus graphite. Switching palettes does not alter existing strokes. You can change paper and the drawing half while drawing. The four paper styles are smooth white, sketch paper, squared paper, and kraft paper.

How do I use the 50 tracing guides?

Open the template gallery and browse animals, nature, objects, and shapes. Each of the 50 guides has a name and a preview showing only the dashed template half, so you discover the finished mirrored picture when you fold. Choose a motif to trace or hide the guide to draw freely.

Guide lines are neither imprinted nor included in the exported picture. The strokes you draw over them are part of your picture.

How do I correct my picture?

Use Undo for strokes, erasing, and imprints. The eraser lets you edit either half independently. Brush and eraser each have three sizes.

How do I save or share my drawing?

Your current page saves automatically on your device so you can continue later. The app is not a gallery for multiple pictures: export a picture you want to keep before starting a new page.

Export a PNG with your chosen paper or a transparent background. Share it through iOS or save it to Photos. Saving to Photos only needs permission to add pictures, not access to existing ones.

If you denied Photos permission, change it in iOS Settings or use Share to save the picture elsewhere.

Do I need an internet connection or an account?

Neither is needed to draw. Drawings and settings stay local. Product information and optional purchases are loaded through Apple and need a connection.

Do I need to pay?

No. All drawing features are free and ad-free. Voluntary support helps develop and maintain small, ad-free apps. There are three support levels, and you can repeat a purchase; no subscription or extra features are involved.

After confirmed support, the additional navigation entry disappears. Support remains available in Settings. Apple processes purchases through your Apple Account.

AngleQuest

Which devices can play?

AngleQuest requires an iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1 or later. Other iPhones show an information screen and cannot play the game.

How does a round work?

Each game has five rounds with ten seconds each. Remember the target angle, then gently fold your iPhone to match it. Your measured angle and score stay hidden during the round.

When time is up, your guess is saved and the result appears when you open the phone.

What do the sounds mean?

Two quick rising notes start the round.

A tick marks each of the final three seconds.

Two short beeps and one long beep mean your guess is saved and you can open your phone.

Three slower descending notes mean the round was interrupted: open the phone and try again.

You can listen to these cues in Settings. Samples that you explicitly play in Settings are audible even in Silent mode.

Do I need to pay?

No. AngleQuest stays free and ad-free, with unlimited games.

Voluntary support helps develop and maintain small, focused apps without ads, independently of advertising revenue. The repeatable one-time tips unlock no features, give no leaderboard advantage, and start no subscription. Apple handles purchases through your Apple Account.

What stays on my device, and how do I reset it?

Your settings, personal best, last 50 completed games, support preferences, and Game Center sign-in choice are stored locally.

In the management menu, you can clear the history or reset the best score separately, with confirmation. Clearing one keeps the other.

Neither action deletes online Game Center scores or resets your support or Game Center sign-in choices. Device backups follow your system settings.

How does the optional leaderboard work?

Open Leaderboard in the main menu or after a game. You can keep playing without signing in.

When signed in to Game Center, new standard games completed under the same account are eligible: five rounds, ten seconds per round, up to 5,000 points. The five active guessing phases must not be interrupted or retried. Breaks between completed rounds are allowed.

Apple receives each eligible total and keeps your best leaderboard score. Games played before sign-in and old local records are not uploaded later.

How do I keep Game Center off or enable it again?

Cancelling the sign-in prompt is remembered across app launches; the app then stops automatic sign-in and new score submissions.

To resume, open Leaderboard and choose Enable Game Center. You may also need to sign in in system Settings and restart AngleQuest.

Signing out of Game Center in system Settings stops new submissions. Your local game remains available.

What if the leaderboard does not open?

Check your connection and your Game Center sign-in in system Settings, then try again.

Apple’s native dashboard may be unavailable in the iOS Simulator even when sign-in succeeds. Local games remain playable; an unavailable dashboard does not mean that your local history is lost.

PlankCycle

Why is the final round shorter?

It is shortened when the total target cannot be evenly divided by the hold time.

What data does PlankCycle store?

Total target, hold time, rest time, and the announcement setting are stored locally on the device.

Does the app record audio?

No. Voice cues use system features; the app does not use the microphone.

On This Date

Where do the facts come from?

Since version 2.0, the app reads from an included, edited catalog in English, German, and Spanish. Discovering a fact makes no OpenAI request. The information button opens its source article, where you can check important details.

How many facts can I discover?

You can discover up to 5 new facts a day for free, or up to 10 with Pro. Rereading, browsing, and changing language do not use another fact. New facts are available only for the current day; use the arrows to revisit days you have already collected.

Where are my facts from the old version?

Your earlier facts are preserved in the archive in Settings after the update. If you have an older collection, a notice explains the change the first time you open the updated app.

How do my interests affect the selection?

In Settings, choose several topics and a preferred region and period. These are priorities: when no matching new facts remain, the app shows another event. Use the language entry to change the app language in iOS Settings.

What does Pro include, and is it a subscription?

Pro is a one-time in-app purchase with no subscription: no ads, up to 10 new facts a day, favorites, and Medium and Large widgets. The price appears in your Store currency before purchase. Restore an existing purchase on the Pro page using the same Apple Account.

How do widgets work?

After purchasing Pro, add an On This Date widget in Medium or Large to your Home Screen. It shows the fact you last selected for the current day. If you have not opened the app today, it selects a fact from the catalog. iOS controls widget refreshes, so changes may take a little time to appear.

Do I need internet, and what stays on my device?

You can read the catalog and your collection offline. Ads, purchasing or restoring Pro, and linked sources need a connection. Your collection, favorites, and settings are stored locally; the app does not provide its own cloud sync. Upgrading or losing Pro access does not delete your facts or favorites. Favorite features are hidden without Pro.

How do I change my advertising or privacy choices?

In the free version, Ad privacy options appears in Settings when Google provides this entry for your region and choices. Use it to change your decision. With Pro active, the app hides ads and makes no new ad requests.

How do I report a mistake in a fact?

Email the support address below and include the date, year, and displayed text. Include only the information needed to explain the issue.
