You can play AngleQuest without an account. Settings, your personal best, and your last 50 completed games stay on your device. If you use Game Center, eligible new total scores are sent to Apple. Apple also handles voluntary support purchases.
Who is responsible?
AngleQuest is provided by Jannis Guhl. For privacy or support questions, email the address below.
Settings, game history, and local preferences
The app stores your sound, haptic, and color preferences, your personal best, and your last 50 completed games locally. The history includes round results and completion dates; older entries are replaced when the limit is reached.
Local support preferences record when support messages were shown, whether you dismissed them, and whether a contribution was recognized, so the app can limit further requests. A decision to decline Game Center sign-in is also stored locally. These local records are not sent to the developer.
Operating-system backups and their retention are controlled by your device and backup settings.
Angles and round timing
While you play, AngleQuest processes hinge angles and timing on your device to run the game and calculate round scores. It keeps the completed results in the local history described above.
The continuous hinge readings and full local history are not uploaded. Only eligible new total scores may be sent to Apple through optional Game Center.
Sound cues are generated locally; the app does not access the microphone or record you. Sound samples that you explicitly play in Settings are audible even in Silent mode.
Playing without an account, advertising, or tracking
No account is required to play. AngleQuest has no developer backend, advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party crash-reporting service. The developer cannot access the game history stored on your device.
The app does not synchronize your local history or settings through its own cloud service. Optional Game Center uses your Apple Game Center account and Apple’s online leaderboard.
Optional Game Center
If Game Center is enabled and you are signed in, AngleQuest submits the total score of a newly completed standard game: five rounds with ten seconds each, from 0 to 5,000 points. The five active guessing phases must not be interrupted or retried. Breaks between completed rounds are allowed. The same Game Center account must remain signed in throughout the game.
The app uses a game-specific player identifier locally to check that scores belong to the right account. Existing local records are never uploaded later.
Apple processes the scores and account information for Game Center and its leaderboards; visibility is governed by Apple’s Game Center settings and service. Apple’s privacy information applies to this processing.
Game Center choices and online scores
If you cancel Game Center sign-in, AngleQuest remembers this locally across app launches and stops automatic sign-in and new score submissions.
To enable it again, choose Leaderboard, then Enable Game Center. After cancelling in the same app session, you may need to sign in to Game Center in system Settings and restart the app. You can also sign out of Game Center in system Settings to stop new submissions.
Clearing the local history, resetting the local best score, or deleting AngleQuest does not delete scores already stored by Apple in Game Center.
Optional tips through Apple
Voluntary support helps develop and maintain small, focused apps without ads, independently of advertising revenue. AngleQuest remains free and ad-free, with unlimited games and no paid gameplay or Game Center features. The app offers three optional, repeatable one-time tips. They do not start a subscription or unlock any features.
StoreKit communicates with Apple to load product details and process purchases, including transactions completed later. The app receives the product and transaction information needed to verify and finish a purchase. Apple handles payment; the developer does not receive your full payment details.
Apple's processing is covered by its own privacy policy. Purchase information provided by Apple can also be used to recognize previous support and avoid further support messages.
Email requests
If you email us, your sender address, message, and technical email metadata are used to respond to your request. We keep them only as long as needed for that purpose or to meet legal retention duties. This does not give us access to your locally stored game data.
Deletion and your rights
You can clear your game history and reset your personal best separately in the app’s management menu. Clearing history keeps the personal best; resetting the best keeps the history. These actions do not clear your support preferences or stored Game Center sign-in choice and do not delete online Game Center scores.
Deleting the app removes its local app data, subject to operating-system and backup behavior. The developer cannot delete that data remotely.
Where applicable, you may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold from an email request, restrict or object to its processing, or receive a portable copy. You may also complain to a data protection authority. Contact us using the email address below.
