Which devices can play?
AngleQuest requires an iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1 or later. Other iPhones show an information screen and cannot play the game.
How does a round work?
Each game has five rounds with ten seconds each. Remember the target angle, then gently fold your iPhone to match it. Your measured angle and score stay hidden during the round.
When time is up, your guess is saved and the result appears when you open the phone.
What do the sounds mean?
- Two quick rising notes start the round.
- A tick marks each of the final three seconds.
- Two short beeps and one long beep mean your guess is saved and you can open your phone.
- Three slower descending notes mean the round was interrupted: open the phone and try again.
You can listen to these cues in Settings. Samples that you explicitly play in Settings are audible even in Silent mode.
Do I need to pay?
No. AngleQuest stays free and ad-free, with unlimited games.
Voluntary support helps develop and maintain small, focused apps without ads, independently of advertising revenue. The repeatable one-time tips unlock no features, give no leaderboard advantage, and start no subscription. Apple handles purchases through your Apple Account.
What stays on my device, and how do I reset it?
Your settings, personal best, last 50 completed games, support preferences, and Game Center sign-in choice are stored locally.
In the management menu, you can clear the history or reset the best score separately, with confirmation. Clearing one keeps the other.
Neither action deletes online Game Center scores or resets your support or Game Center sign-in choices. Device backups follow your system settings.
How does the optional leaderboard work?
Open Leaderboard in the main menu or after a game. You can keep playing without signing in.
When signed in to Game Center, new standard games completed under the same account are eligible: five rounds, ten seconds per round, up to 5,000 points. The five active guessing phases must not be interrupted or retried. Breaks between completed rounds are allowed.
Apple receives each eligible total and keeps your best leaderboard score. Games played before sign-in and old local records are not uploaded later.
How do I keep Game Center off or enable it again?
Cancelling the sign-in prompt is remembered across app launches; the app then stops automatic sign-in and new score submissions.
To resume, open Leaderboard and choose Enable Game Center. You may also need to sign in in system Settings and restart AngleQuest.
Signing out of Game Center in system Settings stops new submissions. Your local game remains available.
What if the leaderboard does not open?
Check your connection and your Game Center sign-in in system Settings, then try again.
Apple’s native dashboard may be unavailable in the iOS Simulator even when sign-in succeeds. Local games remain playable; an unavailable dashboard does not mean that your local history is lost.
